Joyce Carol Oates was born in June 1938 in Lockport near New York. She wrote over 60 novels and 300 stories. Oates wrote some books under two other names: “Rosamond Smith” and/or “Lauren Kelly”. During the last 40 years she was nominated for lots of awards and honors. Most of them she has won.
