Summary "I am the Messenger"

The book "I am the Messenger", which is written by Markus Zusak is about a man, who's called Ed Kennedy, he's an underage Taxi driver. Most of his time he spends with playing cards with his friends Marv, Ritchie and Audrey, he's in love with her but because of her hard childhood she's not abled to love him.
After a bank robbery, which the friends had to watch, a new life begins for Ed.
He safes the lifes of many people, because he takes the gun of the gunman away.

After that the true story starts, Ed gets his first message.
The messages are written on cards and he has to discover the addresses but they're sometimes hidden.Behind the addresses are always people who have problems or who are unlucky because of something and Ed is going to help them. One of the first and most awful messages is a man who beats and rapes his wife and at the end of the first card Ed has to kill him. His friends and his mom are also messages so it's not easy for him to deliver them.
Shortly after he had finished the messages about other people he gets the last one, the joker card, where his own address is written on.
