"The Absolutely True Diary Of A Part-Time Indian" plays in the USA, in the State Washington in the area around the Spokane Reservation. In this reservation the Spokane Tribe of Indians lives and protects the sources of nature like they did in the past. Arnold Spirit, the leading character, lives in the small village Wellpinit at the reservation, but visits High School in Reardan, a white town next to the reservation.
